Use for free for three months the most innovative free-floating service in Milan!

From March 2018, a new free-floating service based on the sharing of hybrid bikes will land in Milan, thanks to the Bitride experimental project.
Those who will take part to the experimentation will have the chance to use the service before everybody else and for free for 3 months, contributing to its fine tuning up to the release of the official version in June 2018. Participants who will meet the call requirements will be offered a credit of 60€ (approximately corresponding to one year use of the service) usable from the official launch date.

We are searching for 150 volunteers willing to contribute to the revolution of sustainable mobility!

Students currently enrolled in a university course of Politecnico di Milano as well as professors, researchers and PTA, attending the Milanese campuses and equipped with a smartphone.

How? It’s very simple! To apply you just need to fill in all parts the form available at www.bitride.eu by January 15th 2018.

By January 20th 2018 you will be notified via email (at the address indicated in the form) about the confirmation of selection and what to do as next step.

During the experimentation you could use the service according to your daily mobility habits. To get access to hybrid shared bikes you will be simply required to download the Bitride App on your smartphone and register your personal account.

Participants will be asked to accomplish very few activities that are important for the improvement of the service in view of the first release. These consist of:

  • compiling two online surveys, at the beginning of the experimentation and after its conclusion;
  • performing some missions established by the organizers to test key service features;
  • taking part in a focus group or interview after the conclusion of the experimentation.

All volunteers will also participate to a 2-hours session in the end of January 2018 where organizers will illustrate guidelines and objectives of the experimentation.

More than free-floating and electric, Bitride hybrid bikes offer a unique riding experience!

Bitride bike sharing is different from the other free-floating services currently operating in Milan, thanks to the integration of the hybrid technology. What does it mean?

Every Bitride bike is equipped with a special battery that facilitates your riding, allowing you to save up to the 40% of energy you would spend on a traditional bike. Moreover, differently from electric bikes, it does not need to be charged at fixed docking stations.

Thanks to this peculiarity, you will have the chance to take advantage from the benefits of free-floating (parking wherever you want inside the service areas) in addition to the exclusive possibility to use hybrid bikes for your daily trips.

During the testing phase,  parking areas  will be Città Studi and those close to railway stations and subway connections (Milano Centrale, Lambrate, Dateo, Porta Venezia and Bovisa railway stations, Piola and Loreto underground stops).

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 756656.
